So this is it: my final post at One Way United. I won’t say much here, but there’s plenty of other things for you to see. My spot on the people page has been massively updated. In it you will find an end of trip piece. Be forewarned, it’s pretty long and pretty personal. I was as brief as I could manage, but hey, I was gone nearly 8 months! You will also find a collage of my favorite pictures of the trip and some of the stories behind them. Should be informative for those of you who haven’t been following along (you know who you are
). I also added one last special album to the photo gallery so check that out too when you get a chance.
So at last my time here comes to an end. It’s been one long wild ride and now it is time to move on to something else…with adequate rest time in between of course. Love to all and God bless.
Always,
Adam

Adam,
What a joy it has been to read your postings, hear of your adventures, and know that you were living a dream so few of us ever get to live! It was an absolute pleasure to spend your final days in Guatemala with you, and I’ll not soon forget the sight of you jumping rope with the kids and being led around by grubby hands, of getting “lost” in the corn and visiting with the village woman who wanted to know about our “grand” houses in the U.S. (between the two of us and our Espanol, I think we conveyed it pretty well….either that or she is still smiling at the fact we live in igloos). And of course who could forget your famous frat party Quiddler, Squibbler….ummm whatever it’s called……triple play….not sure what was funnier, the actual words or your embarassment over playing them!
Thank you for sharing of yourself, not only with my son, but with the people of Cajixay and with those of us who accompanied you there. Your heartfelt devotional that last night has left a huge impression on me, as I’m sure it did on the others. I pray that you continue to see God in all things…His hand is everywhere.
Although this adventure has come to an end, I have no doubt that your life will hold many more. God has an awesome plan for you my friend, of that I have no doubt. Please stay in touch….and once you are rested, your money has been saved, all the Straw Hat pizza you can stomach has been eaten, and the path of your life seems to be heading north, please know that “Red Tater” always has a place to stay here in beautiful Seattle.
Love and Best Wishes,
Maurina
